Production Chemist - Kwinana

Landmark Proprietary Products Group (LPPG) is a manufacturer and marketer of products for agricultural industries. Its product line offers a complete line of high performance input products as well as a full line of generic products. The LPPG portfolio of seed treatments, plant nutrition, fertilizer, adjuvants, animal health and crop protection products are second to none.

An opportunity has arisen for a Production Chemist to join our team based in Kwinana with a primary focus on the development and maintenance of a fully functional quality control laboratory to service the needs of the manufacturing facility.

Key accountabilities:

  • Develop and maintain validated methods for the testing of products
  • Ensuring all products are tested in accordance to the quality policy of Landmark
  • Assisting in the investigation of product complaints
  • Environmental monitoring of air quality and water run-off when directed
  • Assisting in the development of new product formulations
  • Assist in technology transfer of new products and processes from pilot applications to production processes
  • Assisting in the preparation of submissions to the APVMA for registration purposes.
  • Assist in the training of operators into the safe work methods for the production of products in the facility
  • Assist in the management of production staff
  • Assist in the scheduling process
  • Maintenance of laboratory equipment

To be considered for this role, you must have the following:

  • Minimum Tertiary (BSc.min) qualification in a science discipline, preferably Chemistry
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a laboratory environment and a minimum of 1 year working in an agricultural QC laboratory
  • Ability to run and maintain laboratory equipment including GC, GCMS and HPLC

In addition, you must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, outstanding communication capabilities and the ability to build effective relationships. You will also possess solid organisation and administration skills, people management experience along with a high level of professionalism.
